Vaccination tours started from Russia to Europe

Russian tour operators offer special tours to European countries for vaccination with a drug approved by the World Health Organization.

Maya Lomidze, executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, told about the innovation, RIA Novosti reports.

In September, WHO announced a temporary suspension of consideration of Russia’s application for approval of Sputnik V. The delay was due to the need for additional inspection at the vaccine manufacturing plant. Lomidze says:

“The delay in the recognition of Russian vaccines by the WHO stimulates certain categories of Russians to look for opportunities to be vaccinated with a drug that gives the green light to enter most countries of the world. Vaccination tours abroad have also appeared in the proposals of tour operators.”

The head of ATOR said that most often Russians choose Serbia for this purpose, and spoke in detail about the possible options:

“Serbia vaccinates foreign citizens free of charge with drugs Pfizer, BioNTech, Astra Zeneca, Sinopharm. Plus the Balkan direction – visa-free entry for Russians and open flights. Regular flights to Belgrade are carried out from Moscow and St. Petersburg. Tours to Serbia in order to receive vaccinations against COVID -19 offers a number of tour operators, and its cost is from 59 thousand rubles per person.

Tour operators also offer vaccination tours to Germany. Since September, BSI Group has been offering such a product together with German partners. Pfizer / Biontech vaccination in Munich – 580 euros per person, one dose. Johnson & Johnson vaccination in Baden-Baden – 870 euros per person. The price includes vaccinations and a medical invitation. Translator services are paid additionally – from 60 euros per hour. You will also need to pay for the flight and accommodation.

There is a demand for vaccination tours abroad: every month there are 10 or more applications from those who need a vaccine recognized by WHO. First of all, foreign vaccines are in demand among Russians, who often travel abroad for humanitarian reasons, as well as for business. There are also those who need an overseas vaccination for more comfortable tourist trips, especially in Europe, where many public places need a certificate of vaccination with a drug approved by the EU or WHO. “
