Greece tests drone for drug delivery

At noon on September 21, the first drone flight took place in Trikala, which was used to transport medicines. The starting point was the city’s GiSeMi HUB and the ending point was a pharmacy in the Leptokarya region. The flight was successful.

“This is not fantasy,” Dimitris Papasterios, Mayor of Trikala and President of KEDE, told APE-MPE. “These are scenes from tomorrow, not the too distant future of our daily lives. We can now transport essential items, such as medicines, in emergencies or in everyday life.

“Today we are celebrating exactly one year after the disaster in Karditsa, in Janos, and if we had such a drone last year, we could solve the problems that arose at that time, immediately,” said Mr. Papastergios.

He urged “not to be a technophobe, but to seek and find technological solutions where there are real problems.”

It should be noted that the city of Trikala is one of the leaders in Greece in the implementation of modern technologies. The city has been successfully running for several years unmanned buses… He became the first city in our country where they earned 5G technology… And besides, in this city smoking is prohibited in public places.
