Albanians who shot down a Greek Pontic near GADA arrested

Four people who seriously injured a Pontic Greek near the Attica police headquarters were arrested. Police say that during the arrest, the criminals fiercely resisted, and one of the bandits fired back from a pistol.

Four arrests were made yesterday during simultaneous operations in Glyfada, Marusi and Zografu, while the 32-year-old Pontian, a native of Sukhumi, was transferred from the intensive care unit, where he had been in serious condition for about two weeks, to a regular ward.

It is known that one of the criminals was arrested in the past for possession of weapons, extortion, bodily harm and domestic violence. Another – for fighting and causing damage, as well as for possession of weapons, the third for attempted murder and possession of weapons, the fourth member of the gang – for robbery in Mykonos, unprovoked bodily harm and insults. All members of the gang are from Albania.

The victim was a Greek who was born in Sukhumi and lived in Orestiada. In Athens, the man was on his business.

As a result, in serious condition, with gunshot wounds, the victim was taken to the Evagelizmos hospital. According to information from anonymous sources of the editorial board, it was decided to “remove” the man by competitors involved in “illegal drug trafficking”.

As part of the investigative actions carried out by employees of the Office of Criminal Prosecution for Extortion of the Attica Security Directorate, the case of an armed attack on a 32-year-old citizen, which occurred at noon on Thursday 9 September 2021, near house number 117 on Alexandras Avenue in Athens, on Tuesday On September 21, after simultaneous organized police operations in various areas of Attica (Glyfada, Marousi, Zografu), three local residents and a foreigner were arrested.

They were charged with manslaughter, attempted murder, grievous bodily harm and damage to foreign property, links with a criminal organization, as well as violence against officials and judges, and violation of gun laws.

In addition, in the course of a detailed investigation of the case, information was established about two more persons who were included in the relevant case as accomplices of the detainees. Two criminals are wanted.

It is worth noting that during the arrest, three criminals put up strong resistance to the police, and one of them used a pistol. During the search, the following were found: 3 pistols, an air pistol with throwing ampoules, 2 knives, a metal bat, 5 mobile phones, 2 cars and a motorcycle.

It is noted that the detainees in the past were charged with a number of crimes. Those arrested were taken to the prosecutor of the Athens court of first instance.
