Turkey rejected the Athens Declaration, jointly adopted by the leaders of the EU Mediterranean countries during the EUMED summit in Athens on Friday.
Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic said that the paragraphs dealing with the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus and illegal migration were “biased, devoid of vision and out of touch with reality like in previous years.”
He also called on the signatory countries The Athens Declaration, “Give up their one-sided and prejudiced position, which they adhere to, blindly following Greece and the Greek Cypriot administration under the pretext of solidarity.”
