The countries that are extremely undesirable for tourists to visit were named by the Robert Koch Institute (Germany). Data on German travelers infected abroad were taken into account.
Having counted the number of Germans infected on foreign trips, the specialists of the institute compiled a list of the most dangerous countries for travel during the pandemic, writes Frankfurter Rundschau…
According to the RKI data, over the past 4 weeks, 87,572 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Germany, of which 26,218 infected were named in other countries. Institute specialists note:
“Most of the infections currently occur in the Balkan countries: most often, the infected indicated Turkey as the country of infection, in total 6087 holidaymakers were infected in the country.”
Roughly 5,700 infected people contracted the virus in unrecognized Kosovo, and 2,500 Germans brought the virus from Croatia. Italy and Greece, which are popular among tourists, also got into the top ten anti-rating. RKI clarified:
“In general, the share of registered new cases of infection that occurred abroad in recent weeks has decreased to 17%. Just 2 weeks ago, this figure was 27%.”
The institute noted that they did not share the data obtained depending on the purpose of the trips. That is, it includes both tourists and those traveling with a different purpose – visiting relatives, business trips, business.
