The Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum has announced an information campaign to convince Afghan citizens not to try to get to Greece. The campaign is funded by 75% with EU funds.
The campaign, worth € 73,532 (inclusive of VAT), will run for 3 months and will include video and online banners, multi-social media promotions targeting 4 million impressions, and ads in Afghan newspapers.
The transfer to the winning Greek company came a month after Kabul fell into the hands of the Taliban.
In a press release released on Friday, the Ministry of Migration said, among other things, that the international awareness campaign aims to “prevent illegal immigration flows” but also “provide more information and awareness to quasi-illegal immigrants so that they do not fall prey to traffickers. people and did not endanger their lives. “
The main message of the campaign is that Greece protects its borders in an organized way and does not allow illegal immigration flows, implementing a strict but fair policy, always respecting European and international law, the ministry said, adding that it is acting in connection with the latest geopolitical events in Afghanistan. where most of the immigrants who have come to our country in recent years come from.
According to the Greek Ministry of Migration, the campaign is co-financed by the Asylum, Immigration and Integration Fund of the European Union by 75%.
NGOs are also preparing for the influx of migrants from Afghanistan. It is no secret that many nongovernmental organizations funded from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and some Western countries allocate tens of millions of US dollars to advertise resettlement in Europe. And the 72 thousand euros allocated by Greece for anti-advertising is just a drop in the bucket.
