Thieves caught robbing apartments in Ilioupoli

A criminal group that systematically committed burglaries in Ilioupoli was eliminated by the Southeast Attica Police Department.

In Ilioupoli, DIAS police caught two Albanians aged 26 and 34. The detainees were charged with crimes (numerous thefts, fraud and drug trafficking). Their accomplice has been identified and is on the wanted list.

According to law enforcement agencies, shortly before the arrest, two criminals climbed through a drain pipe to the balcony of an apartment located on the first floor, and, removing protective window bars, entered the house. The thieves took out expensive electronic devices and various valuable items from the house.

DIAS police officers who arrived at the scene identified and arrested two foreigners. In addition, not far from the scene of the incident, the criminals’ “working” car was found, on which they intended to hide. Some of the stolen goods and the burglary weapon were found in the passenger compartment and trunk of the vehicle. The third member of the criminal group, the driver, fled the scene.

As a result of the preliminary investigation, ten cases of theft were revealed. Those arrested, taken to the Athens prosecutor’s office, have already been charged with similar crimes and robberies in the past.
