Pulmonology professor Nikos Tsanakis, in his speech Saturday morning, spoke about the rise in coronavirus cases, mainly due to the opening of schools, but also because of the imminent danger of getting sick, which threatens unvaccinated citizens.
“In the next 30 days, we will lose 600-700 people, 95% of whom are not vaccinated,” Mr. Tsanakis calculated in an interview with SKAI channel. According to scientists, unvaccinated people are 11 times more likely to die from coronavirus.
Further, Mr. Tsanakis noted that around September 20-25, about 2000-2500 cases will be detected in Greece, mainly in connection with the beginning of the school year.
As for the intensive care units, the professor said that “they can be filled within a week, assuming there are 400-420 patients who need intubation.”
Referring to the compulsory vaccination, the professor noted that “it is a public health tool.” “All countries face the same problems in this regard,” the expert summed up his speech.
