Athanasios Exadaktylos, President of the Panhellenic Medical Association, expressed his views on coronavirus patients who refuse intubation and make it difficult for healthcare professionals.
Speaking on SKAI about a coronavirus patient at Evangelismos Hospital who refused intubation and died, he stated firmly:
“First, we have unreasonable demands, similar to those we saw in the intensive care unit of Evangelism and here. I will say this: everyone who does not want to go to the hospital can sign a hospitalization order, take responsibility for their actions and leave. No one will be hospitalized forcibly. Anyone who doesn’t want to be resurrected can sign it again and earn respect by taking responsibility.
However, doctors in hospitals cannot cooperate and consult with lawyers and astrologers. Also the next day, no one, in any mental state, no matter who he is, is allowed to threaten and curse doctors who give their souls for people who need their help. And the state must protect the medical staff who work and deal with Covid cases from malicious acts that unfortunately exist. ”
