Young Afghan footballer is second to fall from a U.S. military plane

The Afghan Sports Society announced the death of Zaki Anwari: a promising young footballer fell from an American plane gaining altitude in Kabul.

Authorities confirmed that the 19-year-old athlete who played for the Afghanistan youth soccer team crashed to death while attempting to flee the country in a US military aircraft. However, details were not disclosed. On social networks, many of his fans pay tribute to the deceased footballer.

After the rapid entry of the Taliban into Kabul, thousands of local residents rushed to the airport, hoping to leave the country in one of the planes of Western countries, evacuating their citizens. Our publication published a video in which hundreds of people are running next to a moving American plane and are trying to somehow gain a foothold on it. After the plane gained altitude, two people crashed to the ground. The remains of another were found after landing in Qatar, in the chassis, which was confirmed by the US Air Force.

These footage went around the whole world and shocked it – 3 people fell from a plane flying at a high altitude. The Afghan family identified one of the dead as their 17-year-old son. The second was a 19-year-old footballer.

Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports posted on Facebook a statement honoring the young athlete: “May he rest in heaven and pray to God for his family, friends and fellow athletes.” His admirers also noted in the comments: “His departure is a great grief”, “Your memory is always dear to me.”
