In Methoni, there was a car accident with an injured 53-year-old man sitting in a cafeteria. The fatal accident occurred on the night of Friday 20 August.

The 63-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle for some unknown reason, drove onto the sidewalk, crashed and dragged the man, who at that time was in a cafeteria located in the center of Methoni.

According to local media reports, the victim was an employee of the municipality, he died on the spot. The tragic incident took place around 23:00 in one of the busiest places in the popular tourist resort of Messinia.

The police, who arrived at the scene of the tragedy, will have to figure out the reason for the hit. Witnesses of the fatal traffic accident will be interviewed.
