Greek right-wing party Greek Resolution said Friday that its leader Kyriakos Velopoulos’ personal Twitter account has been blocked.
The statement said that the ruling New Democracy and other “enemies” of the party were behind the move, which “violated all the rules for the functioning of a democratic state.”
“Earlier, the operation of correspondent accounts, which promoted press releases and actions of the president and the party, was suspended,” the statement said.
“In our democratic state, the only institution that can suspend the possibility of expression is Greek justice,” they added.
Greek Decision (Greek: Ελληνική Λύση) is a right-wing nationalist political party in Greece, founded by former MP Kyriakos Velopoulos, which split from the Popular Orthodox Call party in 2016. The party received 4.18% of the vote in the 2019 European Parliament elections and 1st seat in the Greek parliament.
