The situation in Thessaloniki is worrisome as there is a skyrocketing incidence and hospitals in the northern capital of Greece are again overcrowded.
Among the patients being treated for the coronavirus, there is also a 35-day-old child.
The boy, who is barely a month old, was transferred two days ago with a high fever to the Papageorgiou Clinic in Thessaloniki from the Kavala General Hospital.
According to the physician Christos Papastergiu, the newborn may have contracted the virus in his family environment, but there is no risk to his life, since the baby’s respiratory function is normal.
