Powerful explosions thundered near the American embassy in Kabul and the presidential palace. They were reported to the local media by eyewitnesses. After the explosions, a firefight began, both light and heavy weapons are used.

Taliban today freely entered the capital of Afghanistan and occupied the presidential palace. They abandoned the creation of a transitional government and announced the establishment of control throughout the country. The militants promised not to attack the embassies and to give the opportunity to leave for all foreigners who expressed such a desire.
Reporters learned that the Taliban took control of the American military base Bagram, located in the northwest. The Puli-Charkhi prison in the east of Kabul, with five thousand prisoners, was also captured. Taliban supporters are already at large.
