Authorities have closed the monastery of Agios Nektarios on the island of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf after 16 nuns tested positive for the coronavirus.
On Thursday, all 25 monastery residents were tested by a team from the National Public Health Organization (EODY).
Those who tested positive for Covid-19 are now isolated inside the monastery, while those who have tested negative will be quarantined for close monitoring.
Authorities on Friday said the monastery will be closed for two weeks, until 28 August.
