Issuance / replacement of passports is carried out free of charge (without paying a fee), as an exception (derogation from the provisions of the current legislation).
It is specified that in order to issue passports, in addition to the necessary supporting documents, a certificate from the police or other competent authority is required (for citizens whose passports were destroyed as a result of fires in the regions of Attica, Central Greece, Western Greece and the Peloponnese).
B) For identification purposes:
Issuance or replacement of ID cards is free of charge (no commission is charged) and on a priority basis. To facilitate the process, the injured citizens are transported to the competent police authorities in official vehicles.
