The second victim of the fire was Konstantinos Michalos

Who was Konstantinos Michalos?

Konstantinos Michalos was born in 1960 and was the son of industrialist and politician Christos Michalos. He studied economics and political science at the University of Essex and completed his postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics.

In 1988 he took over the management of the family-owned company SWAN SA. In 1993 he was elected a member of the board of directors of EVEA, and in 2006 – its chairman. In 2002 he was elected a member of the Board of the Arab-Greek Chamber of Commerce, in 2004 its vice-president, and in 2003 he was elected president of the Association of Enterprises of North Attica. In the period 2004-2005. was a special adviser to the Ministry of Development.

Between 2005 and 2006, he was General Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and in 2007 he was elected a member of the PPC Council. In 2008 he became a member of the OTE Board.

In December 2011 he was re-elected President of EVEA for four years, and in March 2012 he was elected President of KEEE (Central Union of Greek Chambers of Commerce). He was a member of the board of the Athens airport Eleftherios Venizelos from November 2012 to May 2015 and a member of the board of Astir Pallas Hotel SA from June 2012 to July 2017. In 2013, he co-founded Michalos Konstantinos & Co. PC. (M Trading Group), of which he was co-manager. He was the father of four children.
