Hundreds of animals were abandoned or escaped from the fires during the fires in the capital’s Varibobi and Kryoneri areas. Groups of volunteers and firefighters help find them and return the pets to their owners.
Dozens of groups of volunteers traveled today across the area, which was damaged by the fire, and collected pets. Some of the domestic animals, frightened by the fire, fled wherever they looked, while others (mostly cats) hid in all the cracks and sat there until the fire passed.

Nina and Arianna arrived at the scene of the fire and picked up several cats, which were then taken to a pet clinic. Many veterinary clinics in the capital district responded to the trouble and took upon themselves the responsibility to accommodate and treat injured and frightened animals free of charge.
The firefighter took 2 dogs out of the area where there was a fire and handed them over to their owners.

Yesterday, a journalist from Russian Athens, who arrived at the scene of the fire, witnessed how the firefighter took out two dogs and handed them over to their owners.
