As the Minister of Shipping Yannis Plakiotakis said in an interview with SKAI channel, the control over passengers will continue to be thorough, strict and will last all summer.
Among other things, the minister said that more than 12,000 people have not been allowed to board the ferry since the port was taken under control. The responsible official said there is a ready-made operational plan that will be worked out in the coming days to strengthen checks in ports aimed at returning travelers from the islands.
The minister clarified that self-test is mandatory for all citizens who do not have a vaccination certificate or a certificate of a past illness when returning from the islands to the cities.
He noted that while traveling to the islands, self-testing is not allowed for travelers over 17 who must demonstrate a negative molecular or rapid test.
