Archaeological sites in the open air in Greece are closed during extreme heat


The Greek Ministry of Culture announced a change in the opening hours of the archaeological sites in the open air due to the intense heat, which is predicted to continue for a week.

From Tuesday to Thursday, 3-5 August 2021, it will be closed from 12:00 to 17:00 to protect staff and visitors from high temperatures. The ministry also closed the Acropolis on Monday for the same reason. Expected that hot weather runs until Friday 6 August. …
