The air traffic controller of the Minsk airport, who called the Ryanair plane with Roman Protasevich on board for an emergency landing in Minsk, left the country. His family left Belarus with him, Nasha Niva reports, referring to a source in Belaeronavigatsia.
According to the newspaper, the dispatcher Oleg Galegov took a vacation at the end of June, but did not return in due time and did not go to work. In “Belaeronavigatsia” they say that it is impossible to get through to him. Galegov’s colleagues added that he deleted social media accounts. One of them says: “I think he just played it safe and left. He is an excellent specialist, he can find work in any country without any problems. “

The publication draws attention to the fact that it was he who negotiated with the Ryanair plane, flying from Athens to Vilnius on May 23, about an emergency landing due to a bomb on board. However, after landing at the Minsk airport, there was no bomb on the plane, and one of the passengers, the founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel Roman Protasevich, was detained together with her friend, Russian woman Sofia Sapega. Prime Minister of Greece characterized what happened in the skies of Belarus as an “act of state piracy”.
