New Measures: Employees Must Pass Rapid Test and Self-Test

Each unvaccinated employee has to pay 100 euros monthly for diagnostic tests, since the cost of a simple self-test is 5 euros and an express test is 20 euros.

Starting today, Monday 26 July, all vaccinated catering and tourism workers are required to do one self-test and one rapid test per week, according to new measures taken by the Greek government.

In fact, each unvaccinated employee will have to pay 100 euros per month for diagnostics, since the cost of a self test is 5 euros, and an express test is 20 euros. In other words, earnings are reduced by 100 euros, despite the fact that the requirement of the management (employer) to be vaccinated is a lever of pressure on the employee.

The innovation sparked a strong reaction from many employees and entrepreneurs, who emphasized that because some people do not want to get vaccinated, they are obliged to pay for tests, while others believe that the state should cover the cost or part of the cost.
