Crete: a couple of tourists did not return from a boat trip

A man and a woman rented a boat to sail on the sea in Heraklion, Crete. However, they did not return, and the boat was found overturned in the sea.

Poor weather conditions, strong winds of 6-7 Beaufort points, did not contribute to a comfortable sea trip for the couple in the Kaloy-Limenes area. Apparently a gust of wind turned the ship over, and the tourists disappeared without a trace.

According to Flashnews.gr, the couple who found themselves in the sea have not yet been found. An Air Force helicopter and a coast guard boat are taking part in the search. The boat was discovered in the sea area east of Kalo Limenas. Strong gusts of wind make the search and rescue operation difficult.
