New 5 and 10 euro bills

The Bank of Greece presented to the public new banknotes in denominations of 5 euros and 10 euros.

To facilitate commercial transactions and improve the quality of the banknotes in circulation, the Bank of Greece offers to the public, individuals and legal entities, new banknotes of 5 euros and 10 euros, which can be exchanged for other banknotes of the same or larger denomination.

Exchange services are provided by the Bank of Greece Headquarters and Branches and, under certain conditions, no transaction fees are charged.

For information on the procedure, exchange conditions and the necessary supporting documents, interested parties can contact the competent services of the Bank of Greece before visiting them.

When exchanging up to 300 pieces (banknotes of 5 or 10 euros), the exchange takes place at the cash desks of the Central Branch and the Bank of Greece branches during business hours and without prior notice.

In the case of large quantities, the exchange takes place by prior arrangement after telephone contact with the local customer service:
