Greece reports a surge of 3,565 coronavirus cases

Coronavirus cases in Greece hit a new seasonal high on Tuesday, with 3,565 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.

Greek health authorities have also announced 9 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours.

The number of intubated coronavirus patients in intensive care units is 121.

Note that the number of infections is traditionally high on Tuesday compared to weekends and Mondays, when fewer tests are performed.

The home-based vaccination platform opened today, Tuesday 20 July.

The government intends to remove restrictions from Mykonos, as planned on July 26, 2021, as a large number of booking cancellations were recorded.

Please note that vaccinations have slowed down in the last couple of days.

There are 121 patients with coronavirus in hospitals on ventilators (instead of 123 the day before). Their average age is 66 years. 59.5% are men. 89.3% have an underlying medical condition and / or are 70 years of age or older.

Since the start of the pandemic, 2,765 patients have been discharged from intensive care units.

136 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized in the past 24 hours (daily change: -3.55%). The average number of hospitalized patients with Covid-19 over the past 7 days was 121.

The median age of new infections is 42 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), and the median age of deaths is 78 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
