What happened in Germany can be called a biblical catastrophe or the flood of the century.
The death toll is increasing literally every hour. Judging by the fact that 1,300 residents of the country have gone missing, it is difficult to predict the real number of deaths.
As of this hour, at least 103 people have died from flooding in Germany, and this number is constantly increasing. Agence France-Presse and the Athens news agency Reuters quote Malou Drager, head of the local government:
“Right now, we have 60 deaths in the Rhineland-Palatinate region alone.”
And the rampant elements and its consequences continue. This morning, a massive landslide caused by the rains blew down houses in the Erstad-Blessem community, near Cologne. A Cologne Community Representative says:
“The houses were washed away by water, and some collapsed. Many people are missing ”.
The German Ministry of Defense has introduced a military disaster due to flooding.
