Anti-vaccination demonstrations swept across Greece

About 3,000 people took part in a protest in Athens today against the vaccination of certain occupations and against the vaccination of children and adolescents. The protesters marched from Omonia Square to Syntagma Square, where slogans against vaccination were shouted outside the parliament and demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Mitsotakis.

The demonstration began today, July 14, at 19:00 in the central square of the capital, Omonia. Then the participants of the march headed towards Syntagma square.

Gathering in front of parliament, the protesters shouted slogans to abolish compulsory vaccination. “We will not get vaccinated”, “Take the vaccines and get out of here.” One of the most frequent slogans was demanding resignation, outside the parliament building, when the protesters addressed the Prime Minister.

In addition to anti-vaccine slogans, the congregation sang the Greek national anthem while singing “Christ is Risen”

The protesters have officially raised the issue of the constitutionality of mandatory vaccinations and the right to free choice. According to the participants of the action, “we want to dispose of our bodies ourselves.”

It is worth noting that despite the increased incidence and risks of the Delta mutation, the crowd was crowded and only a few were wearing masks.

The rally was organized by Fedo Vovolis, a Free Movement Again group, who, as mentioned in the call poster, is a “militant professor of medicine” and “the only Greek with political ambitions who invites Greeks to join the streets against the medical junta imposed by the Mitsotakis government.”

Similar actions by opponents of vaccination took place in Thessaloniki, Patras and Heraklio.

Hundreds of people gathered at the White Tower, responding to vaccinations against coronavirus as well as restrictive measures, holding Greek flags and shouting slogans, among other things, stating that “fascism will not pass”, “Mitsotakis junta in abandon.”

A rally of citizens who do not agree with the mandatory vaccination against coronavirus continues at the Georgiou Square in Patras. According to TheBest.gr, more than 500-600 people gathered.

The meeting is attended by healthcare professionals from all three hospitals in Patras, as well as some vaccinated people who also oppose compulsory vaccinations and the inclusion of unpaid leave by their colleagues.

Demonstration in Crete

As seen in the photos of the site Cretalive.gr , a multitude of people who responded to the online call for a rally against vaccination at Eleftherias Square in Heraklion.

It is worth noting that significant police forces are gathered around the demonstrators in all cities of Greece.
