Dubai: port explosion on board oil tanker

According to the Al Arabiya TV channel, citing sources, a massive explosion took place on board an oil tanker moored in the port of Jabal Ali.

Eyewitnesses report a huge fireball in the Dubai port area and publish the first videos.

The government press service tweeted:

“The Dubai Civil Defense Department is currently addressing the fire caused by the explosion of a container aboard a ship in Jebel Ali Port.”

Authorities say a fire aboard an anchored vessel has been brought under control. Data on the victims has not yet been reported, the newspaper “Al-Arabi al-Jadid” informs.
