A real shock and a storm of indignation was caused by the speech of the professor of social and preventive medicine of the EKPA Yannis Tuntas.
On state television, he publicly announced that to cope with the Delta mutation and increase vaccination rates, “maybe we should see if we can get the unvaccinated on trains or on public transport that is only for the vaccinated”!
The professors were immediately accused of “racism and apartheid” regarding the division of citizens into “clean” and unvaccinated.
In addition, the specialist suggested introducing other measures: “Self-test is useful when it gives a positive result, but not very reliable when it turns out to be negative. I would say that a weekly rapid test for the unvaccinated is necessary in the workplace. “
He also suggested more targeted vaccination information campaigns. “We need to see which groups are most resistant and focus on them.” He also mentioned the vaccination of children and asked to immediately start vaccinating people under the age of 18!
“If we do not include the 12-17 age group in the vaccination policy in order to cover more than 70% of the total population, the remaining older people will have to be vaccinated at least 90%, which, as you know, is impossible, since, unfortunately, we have , such a percentage vaccine deniers“, – said Tuntas.
Alas, as it turned out, with his “proposals” the professor only managed to anger society and even those who are neither a denier nor an opponent of vaccination! “The only thing he hasn’t suggested, at least not yet, is to tag us as calves,” writes newsbreak.gr.
