The Ukrainian national team, having defeated Sweden, reached the quarterfinals of Euro 2020. Experts believe that the current performance of the Ukrainian team can rightfully be called the best in the history of its participation in the European championships.
The scoring in the match with Sweden in Glasgow, Scotland was opened on the 27th minute by defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. However, at the end of the first half, Swedish midfielder Emil Forsberg equalized the score. The draw lasted until the end of regular time and almost until the end of added time. The fans were already anticipating the pleasure of a penalty shootout, but in the 121st minute, Ukrainian striker Artem Dobvik scored the decisive goal against the opponents.
After reaching the quarterfinals of the European Championship for the first time in the history of the team, the Ukrainians will meet with the England national team. The match will take place on July 3 in Rome. And before that, also for the first time, the Ukrainian national team reached the playoffs of the championship from the third place, defining the rivals with the help of the best goal difference.
Yesterday the England national team met with the German team, as a result of which the latter left the tournament – the British won with a score of 2: 0. After the first half, the teams went for a break with a score of 0: 0, but in the 75th minute Englishman Raheem Sterling scored the first goal into the opponent’s goal, and in the 86th minute striker Harry Kane consolidated the team’s success.
