Today in Epanomi is the funeral of a 14-year-old girl who suffered from excess weight – peers mocked her. She decided on an operation, due to a complication of which she died.
Teenagers are ruthless in relation to their peers, the daughter of a priest has also become a victim of bullying. She really wanted to lose weight, trying to get rid of problems. Last week in a private clinic, the girl underwent gastric banding. Such operations have been practiced since the eighties of the XX century, the technique of their implementation is perfectly mastered and improved.
However, in this case, after surgery, complications arose that cost the teenager’s life. According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the cause of the death was multiple organ failure, which caused septic shock.
The girl’s inconsolable father, a priest, complains of a medical error and, according to APE-MPE, has already filed a negligent murder lawsuit against the private doctor who performed the operation. This was followed by an autopsy in which the plaintiff was represented by technical consultants.
Farewell to the girl will take place today at 16:00, at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Epanomi.
