Russians who refuse to be vaccinated are allowed to be suspended from work, Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, said on Saturday at a meeting with reporters.
According to the minister, the suspension is valid for the period of compulsory vaccination:
“If the region has a sanitary doctor’s decree on the compulsory vaccination for certain categories of workers, then the unvaccinated employee can be removed. The decision to carry out preventive vaccinations for epidemic indications is made by the chief sanitary doctors of the subjects. That is, such a decision is made at the regional level. according to epidemic indicators it is accepted, then for workers who are named in the relevant document, vaccination becomes mandatory. “
Anton Kotyakov noted that in the absence of objective reasons for refusing to be vaccinated, the employee is suspended from performing his official duties without pay, TASS informs. The list of professional areas, established by the chief sanitary doctor of the Russian capital, whose workers must be vaccinated – public catering, trade, housing and communal services, transport, theaters and cinemas, healthcare, social services, education, beauty salons and fitness clubs.
Natalya Peryazeva, chairman of the expert council for the development of social entrepreneurship in the State Duma, says:
“The situation is developing rapidly: until recently we were making plans for the weekend, and now many social entrepreneurs are literally in panic trying to save their teams and businesses. The same is true in the service and retail sectors, whose workers are also at the forefront.”
In recent days, the number of infections with the Delta coronavirus variant has been breaking records in the country. Over the past day, 17,906 new cases and 466 deaths have been registered in Russia.
