Australian scientists have begun testing a new spray vaccine against Covid-19. Researchers at the Brisbane-based Nucleus Network claim that it will outperform Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
Radio Liberty talks about the success of scientists from Australia and their nasal spray, and an article on the new development has been published on the Voice of America website.
Nucleus Network Medical Director Dr.Paul Griffin, who is leading the trial on the Australian drug, says it should significantly reduce the risk of infection:
The main advantage of the new drug is that it is administered in the same way that pathogens or viruses enter the body. We hope this enhances the effectiveness of the vaccine, effectively preventing the virus from entering the human body. “
The vaccine developers predict that it will be available to patients in about two years.
