With the help of two police dogs, 20 plastic bags of raw cannabis were found in a heavy truck that arrived at the port of Patras.
A large quantity of cannabis weighing 65 kg was found by officials of the Port Central Authority during a search of a truck, in connection with which a 62-year-old driver was arrested.
Eight paper bags were found among the cargo and fishing nets after a search of a vehicle that was en route from the port of Ancona by the coast guard, according to a statement from the coast guard. Suspecting something was wrong, the police connected the search dogs to the search of a suspicious car, with the help of which they found 20 plastic bags containing raw hydroponic hemp, with a total weight of 64 kg and 832 grams.
After the discovery of the drugs, officers from the Central Port Authority of Patras arrested a truck driver. An investigation is underway.
