ΟΑΕΔ: new employment program for the unemployed

New subsidized full-time jobs are offered by the Employment Agency ΟΑΕΔ. The vacancies are for the unemployed who are in the most disadvantaged position.

According to the information, the new program of subsidizing jobs for the recruitment of 1,000 unemployed, disadvantaged and especially difficult, will be activated at 9 am on Tuesday 22 June.

The program aims to create 1,000 new full-time jobs and all private companies are beneficiaries. The program lasts 12 months (+ 12 months for the unemployed in a particularly disadvantaged position) and the monthly subsidy is 50% of the monthly salary and non-salary expenses (up to 750 euros). The government subsidy includes Christmas and Easter gifts and holiday credits.

Beneficiaries are those registered unemployed in the OAED unemployed register who are disadvantaged.

According to the announcement, the unemployed in a difficult situation are:

persons aged 18-24 and over 50; registered in the registers of the unemployed ΟΑΕΔ 6 months or more; high school graduates who have not completed their education or have not completed vocational training; singles with one or more dependents.

The unemployed in a particularly disadvantaged position include:

registered in the registers ΟΑΕΔ 24 months or more; registered in the registers ΟΑΕΔ for 12 months or more, and belong to one of the categories of low-income people.

To participate in the program, interested companies submit an application electronically indicating the specialty and the desired level of education for the required employee. Then labor consultants ΟΑΕΔ nominate suitable candidates for the company, in accordance with the required qualifications of the vacancy, and then the company selects among the candidates and hires the unemployed.

The total budget for the program is € 11.7 million and will be funded from ΟΑΕΔ resources.
