Greece extends restrictions on air passengers

On Tuesday, the Greek Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) extended the air travel directives (notams) for travelers arriving in the country from abroad, as well as for passengers on domestic flights to the Greek Islands. The directives have been expanded to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The directive has been extended until Monday, June 21, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.

The rules are as follows:

Traveling to Greece without the need to go through quarantine on arrival is only allowed for passengers from the European Union and the Schengen area. In addition, travelers from the following non-EU countries are exempt from quarantine:

Australia, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Israel, Kuwait, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Qatar Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Arab Emirates Kingdom, United States of America.

All travelers arriving in Greece must submit a Passenger Location Form (PLF) to https://travel.gov.gr the day before arrival and have one of the following three documents (Covid-19):

an official vaccination certificate confirming that 14 days have passed since the full vaccination against Covid-19. negative PCR result (in Greek, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Russian), performed less than 72 hours before arrival, a certificate of recovery (in Greek, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Russian) , which indicates that the person in question has recovered from the coronavirus in the past nine months.

Documents are required for all passengers over 6 years old.

Selective express tests are carried out at the airports of arrival. In case of a positive test result, passengers are quarantined for 10 days. If the passenger is vaccinated, quarantine is established for 7 days. To exit quarantine on the last day, you must pass a PCR test.

For those vaccinated in Greece, a certificate through https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ugeia-kai-pronoia/koronoios-covid-19/pistopoietiko-emboliasmou or similar if vaccinated abroad.

Or PCR test (72 hours) or express test (24 hours and registration for https://self-testing.gov.gr/covid19-self-test-print.pdf in Greek / English), or a certificate of recovery from illness.
