Topics of the Russia-USA summit: what the heads of state will discuss

Aide to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, on the eve of the summit in Geneva, spoke about what Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden would be talking about.

There are many important topics for discussion by the heads of state: a pandemic, economic cooperation, the fight against cybercrime, strategic stability, the problems of the Arctic, climate change. In the list of topics, referring to Ushakov’s words, RIA Novosti reports – Belarus, Ukraine, Navalny.

Conflicts in Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Nagorno-Karabakh are also on the agenda. Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin will discuss the work of diplomatic missions, the detention of Russian citizens in third countries, general issues of relations between the two countries. It is very likely that as a result of the joint decision of the presidents, ambassadors will be able to return to Moscow and Washington. Ushakov noted that there were no problems in agreeing on topics, besides, the parties can start a conversation on any of the topics that were not previously agreed upon.

The meeting between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin will take place tomorrow, June 16, at the Villa La Grange in Geneva, Switzerland. This is the first face-to-face meeting of power leaders since Biden’s victory in the presidential election and Putin’s first foreign visit since January 2020.
