A new strain of coronavirus, which has caused devastating consequences in India, provokes blood clots and threatens hearing loss.
The publication of ThePrint tells about the warning of Indian doctors today. Experts state that the Delta variant is not only more infectious than others, but also causes symptoms that are not inherent in other strains of the coronavirus. Patients with this option are observed: severe gastric disorders, hearing impairment, leading to gangrene, the formation of blood clots. Ganesh Manudhane, a cardiologist based in Mumbai, notes:
“Some patients develop microthrombi or small blood clots so severe that they die and develop gangrene.”
Abdominal pain is also associated with the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels that supply the intestines. Severe tonsillitis, hearing problems, and swelling in the neck are the most common complaints of patients seeking help in hospitals. Pediatrician Chetan Mundada says:
“The most worrying aspect of the current epidemic in India is the speed at which the virus is spreading, including among children.”
The number of coronavirus victims in India has already exceeded 350,000 (351,309). The latest report from the Federal Ministry of Health states that 2,123 people have died in the previous day. And although new daily cases are regularly decreasing, AMPE reports, the total number of cases is very close to 29 million.
As we reported, WHO recently took a decision rename strains coronavirus. From now on, the World Health Organization will use Greek letters to designate options: British – Alpha, South African – Beta, Indian – Delta. The organization announced that, in addition to simplifying terms, the innovation is intended to remove stigma from names, not to use Indian, British and so on to designate variants of terms.
