As part of operational activities, a 22-year-old young man was arrested in Paleo Faliro by the Immediate Response Police on charges of serial robberies using a replica of a pistol (toy).
According to ΕΛΑΣ, a 22-year-old man committed a “gun” robbery in a supermarket located in the Paleo Faliro area and escaped on foot. The police officers who arrived at the scene found the attacker in the open part of the apartment building, where he decided to take refuge, while earlier he got rid of the “weapons” and stolen things. The accused was arrested and taken to the Attica Security Directorate.
On the open territory of an apartment building, the following were found and seized: an exact copy of a pistol, a knife, 1,615 euros in cash, which the offender received during the robbery of a supermarket, as well as stolen goods. During a police search of his home, another replica of the pistol was found and confiscated.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Department of Property Crime Investigation, two more supermarket robberies in a similar pattern were carried out by a 22-year-old criminal.
The detainee was taken to the Athens prosecutor’s office, while the investigation to establish that the accused has committed other criminal acts continues.
