Putin: “Commercial interests prevail over the health of European citizens”

Speaking on June 4, 2021 at the World Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin touched upon the approval of the Sputnik-V coronavirus vaccine.

In his opinion, Europe is postponing the approval of the Russian vaccine because of the “battle for money”, reports APE-MPE. Because business interests are at stake, Putin emphasizes:

“Commercial interests prevail over the health of European citizens. I think this is a battle for money on the part of those who produce a similar product in other countries and want to assimilate the European market with its distinctive brilliance and do it well. “

Meanwhile, the Russian president has already instructed the government, giving a deadline until the end of June, to study the issue of organizing paid vaccination of foreign citizens on Russian territory. Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said at a forum in St. Petersburg: “Russia may open up to vaccine tourism.”
