Serbia: powerful explosions at the ammunition factory

In 140 km from Belgrade, in the town of Cacak, at night explosions began at the Sloboda ammunition plant.

The first one, reports AMPE with reference to the Serbian TV RTS, shook the city at 01:30. It happened in a finished goods warehouse. At that time, there were 60 third-shift workers at the plant. According to the plant’s management, all of them have been evacuated. However, there is a possibility, according to local media, that 6 people failed to leave the territory and were trapped, hiding from the explosions in an underground room.

Powerful explosions continued throughout the night, and sporadic explosions were heard in the morning. At night, residents of nearby settlements were evacuated. The area is cordoned off by police and military. According to official figures, there are no casualties at this hour.
