Real estate sales soar after the statement by the Minister of Finance

Finance Minister Christos Staikuras announced that at the beginning of next week in the “Government Gazette” will be published the decision of the ministry with the zones of the new appraised value of real estate.

Based on the current data of this announcement, there has been a significant increase in interest in properties in the center of Athens, favored by the launch of short-term rentals in previous years, as well as in the cheapest areas of the region, where prices are low for social reasons.

Due to the change appraised property value many investors are interested in purchasing housing in zones with reduced rates, and some have already purchased real estate, as can be seen from the real estate transfer registers.

In particular, only in the municipality of Athens, sales doubled in the first five months compared to the first quarter of the year with the aim of paying lower taxes.
