As of Thursday 1 July 2021, all registered unsubsidized unemployed persons will have more time to renew their unemployment card as it can be “renewed” instead of a period of five business days before or after the expected card expiration date of up to 20 calendar days.
The new 20-day deadline will begin to apply for unemployment cards that expire on July 1, 2021, which can now be renewed from June 12, 2021, that is, up to 20 calendar days before the scheduled expiration date. Registered unemployed will receive three reminder messages about the obligation to renew the unemployed person’s card within 20 days.
For a smooth transition to the new renewal period in July and August 2021, an additional period of 5 working days after the expiration of the unemployment card will apply.
Please note that the renewal is carried out through:
• Single digital portal of public administration gov.gr.
• OAED e-services.
• Application for mobile phones and tablets OAEDapp.
• Citizen Service Centers (KEP).
We remind you that the unemployed card is valid for one quarter from the date of the initial registration or the last renewal, in which case it must be renewed. At the end of the renewal period, the card is automatically canceled. In this case, citizens can apply for a new one.
