Almost 167 kg of cannabis were found and confiscated by the Greek police in an international truck that followed the Thessaloniki-Yevzonon national road to Kilkis. A 37-year-old foreign driver was arrested.
According to Greek law enforcement agencies, as part of an organized operation to combat drug trafficking, a covered truck, which had previously entered Greece through the Yevzoni border station, was stopped for inspection on Sunday afternoon.
In the course of operational measures and searches carried out using the Iris system, a sniffer dog and employees of the Euzoni customs service, 92 packages of cannabis were found, which were well hidden in the lower part of the vehicle.
The 37-year-old driver, originally from North Macedonia, was arrested and brought before the Kilkis prosecutor. One of the packages contained a pistol with two rounds and an additional full clip.
