The milestone of two million vaccinations with two doses of the coronavirus vaccine crossed Greece today, as confirmed by a statement from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Marios Themistocleous.
Earlier, undersecretary of state for digital government, George Georgantas, expressed optimism that the country would see a different picture in June as more and more age groups join the Freedom program with an ever-growing supply of vaccines. All Vaccine Sites Open Early Saturday morning, a site opened to vaccinate citizens over 18 with a single shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A platform at emvolio.gov.gr has also been opened so that citizens in the 30-34 age group can make appointments for all available vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The platform has been open since Wednesday, May 26, so the 35-39 age group can make an appointment for all four vaccines available. From May 21, the platform is open to citizens in the 40 to 44 age group and to four available vaccines. The next step is a green passport
The next step for the vaccinated is to use European digital certificate Covid, which was presented yesterday in Athens.
The digital certificate will prove that the citizen has either been vaccinated against any of the vaccines obtained from the EU marketing authorization, or his results have been negative, or he has recovered.
Our country will be technically ready to receive a certificate from June 1, and it will start working on the 3rd day of the month. In fact, the certificate will be submitted to parliament for approval next week, as the European Parliament is expected to vote on it on June 23rd.
