Financial assistance to victims of the fire in Alepochori

The government committee, chaired by Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas, is today in Alepochori for the first registration of damage caused by the fire element.

Mr Petsas announced immediate financial support for victims of the disastrous fires in Corinth and West Attica in the amount of € 600 for basic needs and up to € 6,000 for household expenses.

After meeting with the coordinating body, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs noted that after these social protection expenditures are provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the competent ministries will have to pay a number of them in relation to the protection of the victims and their agricultural land. Assistance in providing housing, etc. is also expected.

The committee also includes: Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, in charge of territorial planning and urban environment Nikos Tagaras, as well as secretaries general – for economic policy Christos Triantopoulos, infrastructure Georgios Karagiannis, agricultural policy and management ΕΛΓΑ Andreas Likurezos.
