Arrest of a police officer transporting explosives

A police officer was arrested in Messara, Crete, because he was carrying a huge amount of dynamite in the trunk of a car he was driving.

The arrest was made a few hours ago, during a spot check by local police. The detainee, according to the available information, stated that he did not know about the presence of such a load in the car, and claimed that he had lent the car to his son-in-law, and he himself had nothing to do with explosives.

The car is reportedly registered in the name of the police officer’s wife, who is currently wanted. The case is being investigated under the heading “secret”. Law enforcement agencies are trying to shed light on a “serious” case in their ranks.
