Tripartite meeting in Nicosia of the defense ministers of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt

The problems of the Eastern Mediterranean will be discussed today in Nicosia by the defense ministers of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt. Signing of a joint statement is expected.

Today at 15:00, Charalambos Petridis, Minister of Defense of Cyprus, will meet with his Greek counterpart Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and General Mohamed Zaki from Egypt at the Landmark Hotel. At 15:30, a trilateral consultation of the delegations of the Ministries of Defense of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt will begin.

The main topic of the meeting will be discussion of the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the region. The defense ministers of the three states will also discuss ways to further strengthen defense cooperation. A joint statement is scheduled to be signed at 17:00. After that, at 17:15, a joint press conference will take place.

On Thursday, May 20, the defense ministers of Greece and Egypt, according to AMPE, will hold separate meetings with Nikos Anastasiades, President of the Republic of Cyprus. Also, within the framework of the visit to Cyprus, bilateral meetings will be held between the delegations of the three countries.
