Free vacation up to 10 nights for 600,000 Greeks, even in 5 * hotels

In total, “300,000 citizens will go on free vacation,” Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said in an interview with SKY TV, referring to the OAED’s planned social tourism program this year.

The period during which citizens can go on vacation is limited by dates: from 1/8/2021 to 31/7/2022. In this case, applications will be submitted in June.

The program includes a subsidy for accommodation in hotels with breakfast + ferry transfer (ferry tickets), as well as:

1-6 nights in tourist accommodation. Up to 10 nights on the islands of Leros, Lesvos, Samos, Chios, Kos, Evros.

What happens to last year’s unused Social Vacation Vouchers

The 300,000 unused 2020 vouchers will be valid until the end of July 2021.

In order to be able to participate in the social tourism program, citizens must have:

50 working days (ensima). Unemployment benefit for at least 2 months. Registration in the special register of unemployed people with disabilities OAED. Income criteria: up to 30,000 euros (family).
