A military parade dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War was held in Moscow today. The international media called the event “great”.
At exactly 10:00, the standard-bearers opened the parade, carrying the red banner of victory and the national flag of Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the heroic actions of the Soviet people saved the world from the “brown plague” and stated:
Russia consistently defends international law. At the same time, we will firmly defend our national interests and ensure the security of our people. A reliable guarantee of this is the valiant armed forces of Russia, the heirs of the soldiers of Victory.
More than 12,000 servicemen and 190 pieces of modern military equipment took part in the military parade, and 76 planes and helicopters flew in the skies over Red Square. Military parades were held today in all major cities of Russia. More than 69% of Russian citizens consider Victory Day the most important holiday of the year.
